As seen in the galleries and read in the “About Us” page we are a North West Company and cater to the sportsman that likes rugged yet functional handguns. Our handguns tend to have stainless steel and Cerakote® finishes. We have other options, but the majority of our customers prefer this type of handgun because of their performance in wet and hostile environments.
Our roots started in the late 80’s customizing 1911’s. In the 1990’s when aftermarket frames and slides became more readily available our guns were built from scratch. We know the 1911 literally inside and out. We can provide all of your 1911 needs, whether, it a custom lightweight commander, bulls eye target pistol, a high speed/ low drag race gun or Grizzly® Win Mag for hunting, we have done it and still do! We offer precise hand cut checkering, zero tolerance beaver tail safety fitting and everything else you might want. We can take that box stock Springfield Armory and enhance it into a great defensive piece, or start with a Caspian or Wilson frame and slide and build it from top to bottom, a truly beautiful heirloom to be passed on.
If you a hunter or just plain like wheel guns, we can go through your old revolver and make it like new again or take your new revolver and add the finishing touches. Action jobs are our specialty, and we check timing, end shake and cylinder gap as matter of course in any revolver that comes in the door.
The fact of the matter is, whether you own a factory Glock®, Sig Sauer®, Kimber® or any other semi-auto, all can be tailored by providing better ergonomics and enhanced corrosion resistance. And like your family doctor, our number one rule is to “do no harm”. We have seen too many pistols come in that are hacked up. Most times less is better, and we will never try to up sell you.
The Gun North team specializes in factory trigger tuning, action refinement, barrel threading and sight upgrades. These can be done independently or completed as a total make over for a new or used gun. From classic to plastic, we are here to help!
